(FOX40.COM) — A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle late Thursday night in Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

The Sacramento police said officers responded just before 10:15 p.m. to the 2900 block of Ramona Avenue for a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision.

When officers arrived, they located an injured pedestrian who was taken to a nearby hospital, where the person was listed in stable condition.

Police reported that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
