MERCED, Calif. (FOX26) — The California Department of Fish and Wildlife were able to safely relocate a mountain lion spotted sleeping in a tree in Merced.

Calls were made that a mountain lion was spotted sleeping in a tree by a nearby creek in the city of Merced.

Authorities were able to successfully tranquilize the mountain lion and transport it to a suitable habitat.

Biologists believe the mountain lion is between the ages of 1-2 years and didn’t show any signs of aggression.
