Peyton Cyrus Ward
OBITUARY

Peyton Cyrus Ward entered into eternal rest on October 13, 2025 after a brief illness. Peyton was born in New Orleans, LA. He was a 1987 graduate of Castlemont High School in Oakland, CA. After high school, Peyton trained with Job Corps to become a law enforcement officer. A lifelong Oaklander, he worked as a security guard until his death.
Peyton leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Cianna Ward and Christopher Ward; sisters, Carol Ward, Chiquita Stevenson (Michael), Sabrina Jenkins and Monica Wilson; nieces and nephews, Donnell Ward, Rahsaan Williams, Ashley Ward, Sha’melba Williams, Johnny Jenkins, Sharonda Jenkins, Alexis Jenkins, Maxwell Wilson and Sydney Wilson; 12 great nieces and nephews; uncles, Walter McClain, Jr., Edward Franklin and Lionel Franklin; aunts, Florence Coleman and Wanda Harden; loyal companion, Francine Harris and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melba Lee Franklin and Thomas Ward, Jr.; daughter, Latrice Antoinette Ward and brothers, Terry Ward, Jason Ward, James Ward and Thomas Ward, III.
