Another gray whale was found dead in the San Francisco Bay Friday, according to the Marine Mammal Center.
The center said it will not perform necropsy because officials can’t physically get to it.
This marks the fifth dead whale spotted in the Bay Area since St. Patrick’s Day.
It also comes following a recent surge of whale sightings in the Bay as the marine mammals migrate north.
Last year, experts said at least 21 gray whales were found dead in the Bay and about half were struck by boats.
