UPDATE 4/4/2026: Armonie Josiah Jordan, 18, of California, is facing multiple firearm-related charges after an alleged shooting incident at Myrtle Point Park, according to court documents.
Jordan is charged with illegal possession of a regulated firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, carrying a handgun on his person, carrying a loaded handgun on his person, and reckless endangerment. The charges stem from an incident reported on April 1, 2026, in the area of Patuxent Boulevard in California.
According to charging documents filed by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a shooting at Myrtle Point Park and encountered a large crowd of juveniles. Callers reported hearing “upwards of 20 plus shots and people screaming.”
Investigators located multiple shell casings at the scene, including 9mm and .45 caliber rounds, and continued searching the area due to the reported number of shots fired.
Court records state that a witness told detectives they observed Jordan, whom they personally knew, “display firearm and discharge numerous rounds on the beach of Myrtle Point Park, which was crowded with people.” The witness also indicated they believed Jordan may have been shooting at a specific individual, though that part of the investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities allege that Jordan was prohibited from possessing firearms due to both his age and a prior conviction. According to documents, he had a previous conviction related to first-degree assault in 2024, making him ineligible to legally possess a firearm.
During an initial court appearance on April 3, 2026, Jordan waived his right to an attorney for that hearing. A judicial officer ordered that he be held without bond, citing a “reasonable likelihood” that he posed a danger to others or the community.
