On Saturday, police responded to two different, and seemingly unrelated, non-fatal shootings in the SoMa and Parkmerced neighborhoods.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., San Francisco Police Department officers arrived at Sixth Street and Minna Street, where they found a person suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was given medical treatment and taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
As The Standard reported last week, violent crime has ticked up in SoMa since January, with two homicides and a non-fatal stabbing near Sixth Street in March.
This corner is also the exact location of another shooting (opens in new tab) nearly six months ago.
Additionally, just before noon on Saturday, officers arrived at Cambon Drive and Cardenas Avenue, near San Francisco State University.
There, they found a victim who was transported to a hospital, also with non-life threatening injuries.
The SFPD did not release the names of either victim.
No arrests have been named and no suspects have been arrested in connection to either shooting.
