California’s average gas price is getting closer to $6 a gallon as prices continue to spike.

In the Bay Area, San Francisco’s average has jumped to $6.07 per gallon. In Oakland, it’s $5.95. San Jose is at $5.92.

One of the most expensive stations in the Bay Area continues to be a Chevron in Menlo Park. On Sunday, a gallon of regular was going for $7.69 a gallon. Premium users were shelling out $8.09 a gallon.

The national average for a gallon of regular is now well over $4.
