Deputies placed Carson High School under lockdown Wednesday afternoon as they conducted an investigation, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) said.
While the sheriff’s department did not say what the investigation entailed, it confirmed all students were safe and accounted for.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we are working closely with our school and law enforcement partners to ensure the safety of everyone on campus,” the LASD said in a statement.
Carson High School is part of the LA Unified School District, located on Main Street in the city of Carson.
Last Wednesday, officials from Burbank High School had to evacuate buildings and dismissed all students because of a “possible threat.” Police later confirmed a swatting call forced the evacuation, and the campus was declared safe.
