Nordstrom Local, a tiny new Nordstrom service hub, is coming to One Paseo.
It is opening June 4 in the Carmel Valley luxury mixed-use mall between Blue Bottle Coffee and Faherty, the company announced Monday.
Nordstrom Local One Paseo is one of a handful of service hubs the high-end retailer is opening in California as a way to extend its “presence closer to where our customers live and work,” Fanya Chandler, the president of Nordstrom stores, said in a news release.
Sizewise, this new teeny Nordstrom outpost is the opposite of a department store: at 1,190 square feet, this is far smaller than a standard Nordstrom. But with their small footprints, Nordstrom’s new service hubs are a way for the company to expand without leasing a giant new department store.
While customers cannot try on sunglasses, get makeup samples or grab lunch, they can:
Pick up the items they ordered from both Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com, as well as return items from either store.
Get clothing alterations, not just on Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack items, but also from other retailers.
Request a complimentary Nordstrom gift box for any gift purchased at Nordstrom.
Donate gently used clothing and shoes. “All donations will be directed to local nonprofit partners where they’ll support local programs that make a meaningful impact on the community,” the news release says.
This is one of two new Nordstrom Local service hubs opening in California in coming months. The other is in Danville, east of San Francisco in Contra Costa County. That one is around 1,200 square feet.
The One Paseo service hub will be California’s fifth, after Brentwood, Newport Beach, Manhattan Beach and Fillmore.
“We’re excited to bring these new Nordstrom Local service hubs to San Diego and Danville, expanding our commitment to serving customers across California,” Chandler said. “Northern and Southern California represent two of our most significant markets.”
