Long Beach police officers are investigating another no hit shooting in the City.
Officers are investigating a shooting Monday morning after locating several shell casings, yet found no crime scene, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched at about 2:10 a.m. Monday to a “shots” call in the 200 block of Marker Street, northwest of the Artesia (91) and Long Beach freeways, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
No injuries were reported, and no further information was immediately available.
This is the second ‘no hit’ shooting since April 1 leading to speculation about resident’s safety as the City prepares to host events for FIFA World Cup this summer.
Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson has made no public comments on the rise in ‘no hit’ shootings as he grapples with the fallout of potential fraud with the City’s largest homeless provider, First to Serve Inc.
