FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Six people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence during a DUI checkpoint in Fresno on Friday.
The checkpoint was held at Shaw and Brawley from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Police contacted 203 vehicles during the operation.
In addition to the DUI arrests, 29 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle without a license or with a suspended or revoked license.

Officials said DUI checkpoint locations are based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes, and that the primary purpose of checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the roads.
