BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) A family-owned restaurant in southwest Bakersfield is cleaning up and taking stock after a break-in early Friday morning that left a smashed window and stolen equipment.
Sorella posted photos to its Instagram page showing a broken window that the suspect allegedly entered through.
Surveillance video obtained from the restaurant shows the suspect entering through the back of the establishment, and the restaurant also posted photos of the suspect on Instagram.

“We had somebody come around the back door and break through the glass,” said Rylee Jett, a waitress at Sorella.
Jett said the suspect took “two of our iPads and also our cash register and left out the same way.”
The suspect was in and out in under a minute and 30 seconds.
The break-in at Sorella was not the only burglary reported in southwest Bakersfield over the weekend.
DashHound, a dog grooming business, told Eyewitness News on Saturday that it was also broken into.

Sorella and DashHound are about one mile apart.
The Bakersfield Police Department community crime dashboard shows six other burglaries have occurred in southwest Bakersfield over the last 30 days, raising questions about whether burglaries are on the rise in the area.
Jett said the break-in felt personal for the people behind the restaurant.

“We all work really hard to keep this business running and going, and we appreciate all of our customers and everybody that comes in. So, it means a lot to us, this business, and so to know that somebody could break in and steal from us is a little bit sad,” she said.
