Police have arrested six teenagers for their suspected involvement in separate stabbings last week, Chief Mindy Casto said Monday.

Casto said two suspects in the River Park stabbing were taken into custody Thursday, the night of the incident. Lt. Larry Bowlan, spokesperson for the police department, confirmed a 17-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy were arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

Over the weekend, four suspects — two 18-year-olds and two 17-year-olds — were arrested in connection to the Fulton Street stabbings.

Police responded to reports of a fight breaking out on Fulton Street in downtown Fresno around 9 p.m. on Thursday. Two victims were stabbed, and police detained seven people. About an hour later, three juveniles were stabbed in a separate incident in River Park.

“Detectives and officers worked through the weekend to make sure they arrested these individuals, and they’ll face prosecution for their crimes,” Casto said. “It should serve as a lesson to anybody who wants to come into Fresno, especially our most prominent public spaces, and commit crimes that you will be held accountable.”
