KERN COUNTY, Calif. (April 7, 2026) — A head-on crash involving two motorists happened Tuesday afternoon at River Boulevard and Water Street in the La Cresta area of East Bakersfield.
The California Highway Patrol reported the crash at 2:54 p.m. on April 7th between an older model Toyota Corolla and an Infiniti G35 sedan.
The vehicles collided due to unknown circumstances in the southbound lanes of River Boulevard, the report said.
Paramedics and emergency fire crews responded and were able to get a two-year-old out of the Toyota, but it’s unknown if the child was hurt. Also, they transported an elderly woman passenger from the same vehicle to the hospital with minor injuries.
Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles and investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on River Boulevard in Bakersfield.
