A South Florida woman was arrested after authorities said she posed as an officer to her Oakland Park neighbors.

Annie Bryn Flaherty, 37, was arrested Saturday by the Broward Sheriff’s Office on a charge of impersonating a law enforcement officer, an arrest report.

According to the report, Flaherty is accused of posing as an officer to her neighbors in the 5800 block of Northeast 6th Terrace.

Two residents said they received a Ring notification and saw Flaherty, their next door neighbor, standing at their front door displaying what appeared to be a police-style badge on her hip, the report said.

They said she knocked on their door and identified herself as “Miami-Dade Police,” and said she was investigating three stolen diamonds and looking for someone named Eva, the report said.

They said they told Flaherty they didn’t know about any stolen property or anyone named Eva, and Flaherty said she would get a search warrant, the report said.

Flaherty then went to another address and knocked on the door, and the woman who lives there said she opened the door and saw Flaherty wearing what appeared to be a badge on her hip, the report said.

The woman said Flaherty identified herself as being with law enforcement and inquired about three stolen diamonds, the report said.

Investigators met with Flaherty, who produced the badge described as a Miami-Dade Corrections Officer LIV Super Bowl edition badge, the report said.

She was arrested and booked into jail.

Flaherty was listed in the arrest report as working as a flight attendant for Spirit Airlines, but a spokesperson for Spirit said Tuesday that she is a former employee whose employment with Spirit ended several years ago.
