When they arrived, officers found an ongoing dispute between residents and two people, a man and a boy, who had arrived in a vehicle. Both the man and the boy had minor injuries and had loaded guns with them.
Other victims were also found and taken to the hospital.
Once medically cleared, both the boy and the man will be booked into the Kern County Juvenile Hall Facility and the Kern County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and other firearms-related charges.
Surveillance video captures audio of several gunshots. The video showed a group of people, including a person dressed as an Easter Bunny, helping a person who was shot.
Eyewitness News went to the area and spoke to the person inside the costume, who stepped in to help.
“He’s like ‘I just ran to you cause I felt like you were the safest, you’re the Easter Bunny,’” said Sara.
Sara said she helped put pressure on the wound and gave him water. She said she stayed at the location until the ambulance arrived.
“I just love helping people. I like taking care of people and stuff.”
