There are plenty of restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area, but few (if any) replicate the Japanese bathhouse experience like Onsen. On weekends, Onsen opens its restaurant to customers, for in-house pop-ups and special menus from visiting chefs. Patrons can utilize the co-ed bathhouse for up to two hours, alternating between a sauna, brisk cold shower, steam room, or a peaceful sunken hot tub for an additional $50. The meal serves as a relaxing end to the experience.

The check-in desk will confirm the earliest time you can head to the dining room after the bathhouse.

The dining room has square, wooden Japanese stools, two-tops, and an izakaya-like bar with a view of the kitchen. Folded origami cranes strung from the ceiling rustle in the air, thanks to a fan keeping the room cool.
