(FOX40.COM) — Firefighters quickly contained a commercial structure fire Tuesday night on the 3200 block of Ramona Avenue, preventing injuries and limiting damage.
The Sacramento Fire Department responded around 9:45 p.m. alongside the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District to reports of a fire at a warehouse-type building. Officials said the first crews on scene encountered heavy fire coming from a middle unit of the commercial structure.
Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack and brought the blaze under control within about 15 minutes, officials said.
Sacramento Fire Battalion Chief William Irvine told FOX40 that the fire may have involved a forklift and wooden pallets inside the building, which is believed to be used for pallet manufacturing.
Irvine added that large amounts of wood materials, both inside and outside the structure, posed a potential risk for the fire to spread, though crews were able to contain it before that occurred.

Several workers were at the location when the fire started, but no civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire crews remained at the scene to conduct overhaul operations and ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
