Person killed in apparent hit-and-run in Oakland Park, BSO says – NBC 6 South Florida

Authorities are investigating an apparent hit-and-run in Oakland Park that left one person dead.

Deputies responded to the area of West Prospect Road and Northwest 9th Avenue around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a call about a person possibly dead under a bridge, Broward Sheriff’s Office officials said.

The person was found and pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity hasn’t been released.

Investigators said it appeared the person was the victim of a hit-and-run.

Traffic homicide detectives are investigating the fatal crash.
