A 27-year-old man alleged to have fatally punched another man during a confrontation in Barrio Logan last month has been arrested, San Diego police said.
Kenny Dunn, who is also known as Kenny Corzine, was arrested in connection with the death of 38-year-old Javier Teran-Pascasio at the Metropolitan Transit System station on Imperial Avenue near 12th Avenue on March 18, said Lt. Lou Maggi on Tuesday.
Maggi said Dunn struck Teran-Pascasio in the face, who then collapsed to the ground. Dunn allegedly fled the scene on an e-bike.
The next day, MTS reported that a man matching the description of the suspect was seen at the same location. However, witnesses were unable to positively identify Dunn, and he was released by officers.
Teran-Pascasio never regained consciousness and died a week later.
Detectives said they were later able to positively identify Dunn as Teran-Pascasio’s suspected attacker and took him into custody Tuesday near 30th Street and M Avenue in National City.
He was booked into San Diego jail on suspicion of murder and held without bail.
