BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — As National Volunteer Month kicked off on April 1, Eyewitness News employees rolled up their sleeves at the Community Action Partnership of Kern’s (CAPK) food bank on Wednesday to help box nonperishable goods for seniors in Kern County.

Employees from KBAK/KBFX, both on the air and behind the scenes, worked on the assembly line boxing canned goods as part of a broader effort by Sinclair Broadcast Group for the 4th Annual Sinclair Day of Service to support local communities. The company has a history of giving back through natural disaster relief initiatives, food and toy drives, assistance programs, the Diversity Scholarship program and other charitable endeavors.
Similar Day of Service events are also being held by other Sinclair stations around the country on Tuesdays in their communities.

People interested in volunteering at CAPK’s food bank are encouraged to sign up HERE.
