FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has declined to file a misdemeanor charge against an adult who Clovis police say encouraged a student walkout nearly two months ago.
On February 10, about 200 students from multiple Clovis high schools left campus during a protest related to ICE.
Clovis police say 41-year-old Alfred Aldrete of Fresno directed students and walked into the street, impacting traffic.
They say Aldrete was also at a separate student gathering on February 5th, outside of school hours.
Clovis Police sent a full report to the Fresno County DA for review yesterday, requesting one misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
In a statement to Action News, the office said it declined to file charges due to insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
