Submit a Letter by April 10!
April 7, 2026 — AB 1585, co-sponsored by CAWG and Family Winemakers of California, will be heard this month in the Assembly Governmental Organization Committee. We need your help.
Opponents of AB 1585 want to preserve a system that allows imported bulk wine to be blended and sold to consumers as “American” wine – with no disclosure. They have powerful representation in Sacramento, and we need your voice.
As co-sponsors, we would like the Committee to receive an overwhelming show of support from individuals who believe the American label should mean what it says.
These letters do not need to be on company letterhead. Instead, they should be short and straightforward.
Here’s how to submit a letter:
Please print the letter, fill in the date, your name, location, and sign it.
Scan the letter and send the PDF to info@cawg.org
CAWG will deliver the letters to the Committee and each member’s office.
Please feel free to forward this request to your friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors, and encourage them to send a letter as well. We need as many letters as possible.
Please send your letter as soon as possible, no later than April 10.
