BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County Public Health has launched their “Thrive like a Poppy” campaign aimed at educating young people and their families about their health.
The focus of the campaign uses the lifecycle of a poppy to show how people have different health needs throughout their lives.
The first stage of the campaign focused on infants and children.
Now in the second quarter, the campaign is focusing on teen health.
KCPH Program Manager and Public Relations Officer Brynn Carrigan joined ARC Bakersfield to share more details.
Carrigan says one of the biggest health risks currently facing teens is tobacco use.
She says Kern County Public Health is working to empower youth in our community to make healthier choices when they are around tobacco products.
