Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who left a motorcyclist severely injured in South Los Angeles.
On Thursday, authorities released more information about the March 15 incident. The suspect, who was driving a red, older-model Honda Odyssey minivan, was traveling southbound on Normandie Avenue at 48th Street in the Vermont Square neighborhood around 6:50 a.m.
While making a left turn, the driver crashed into the motorcyclist who was traveling northbound on Normandie Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said. The victim was ejected from the motorcycle before landing on the roadway.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim, who had severe injuries, to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect did not stop to check on the victim and continued speeding away. They were last seen driving eastbound on 48th Street towards Raymond Avenue.
“Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” LAPD said.
A reward of up to $25,000 is available to anyone who provides information leading to the suspect’s identification and apprehension.
