Sixteen dogs continued receiving treatment at the Palmdale Animal Care Center Friday after they were found abandoned at Pelona Vista Park last week.
The dogs were found on March 31 in various states of neglect, according to the Palmdale Animal Care Center.
Almost every dog had matted fur filled with dirt and feces, officials said.
The animals were taken to the center for medical care.
“By giving them the grooming that they need, it’s going to improve their mobility (and) comfort level,” said Christopher Valles with LA County Department of Animal Care and Control.
The animals were found after responding to a call stating that “multiple loose small dogs appear left abandoned in the park.”
The center has not announced when or if the dogs will be up for adoption.
