BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A driver has died after crashing into a tree off Highway 155 in the Lake Isabella area Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At around 5:14 p.m. April 9, CHP Bakersfield Area units responded to Highway 155, west of Air Force Way for reports of a solo crash involving a sedan, officials said.

Investigators said a 60-year-old man was driving a 2004 Toyota Camry westbound on Highway 155 at an unknown rate of speed.
Due to his unsafe driving speed, the Toyota veered off the roadway while trying to maneuver a curve and crashed into a tree, according to officials.
The man suffered major injuries and was transported from the scene to a helicopter landing pad for medical evacuation, CHP said. He was pronounced dead while awaiting evacuation.
It is unknown whether alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash as of Friday.
