Author Diane Welch signs a copy of her book for Holly Hall

The Rancho Santa Fe Historical Society held a rowhouse home tour on April 11, a special event celebrating the beautiful, historic homes in the village and the release of a newly commissioned coffee table book on the architectural legacy of Lilian Rice.
The new book, “100 Years of Enduring Elegance: the Rowhouses and Estates of Rancho Santa Fe,” was written by author Diane Welch, a Rice biographer, who also wrote “The Life and Times of Lilian J. Rice, Master Architect.” Art Guild painters, who were in courtyards painting during the tour, have captured the homes in artwork that will be featured in an upcoming art show.
