When Dodger season finally comes back in full swing and it’s one of those days you won’t be watching the game at the stadium, the next best place to be is LaSorted’s. With locations in Chinatown and Silver Lake, LaSorted’s embodies an ideal game-day menu with New York–style pizzas, chicken wings, steaming-hot fried zucchini, and behemoth sandwiches whose flavors rotate monthly. Although you can pick up your food to go (particularly at the Silver Lake location, which lacks seating), lingering at the Chinatown shop on the patio on a warm day, fizzy lager in hand, seems more the move.
LaSorted’s takes its role as a neighborhood pizza joint seriously. This feels like the type of place where people are regulars, pulling up a seat to watch the Dodgers and eat a slice of pizza while hip hop plays in the background. The gallery wall of Dodgers memorabilia and checkered tile floors adds to the charm.
LaSorted’s has a rotating slice of the month that always seems worth investigating. Previous iterations include an artichoke pesto pizza, a heat-forward pastrami pad kee mao riff, and April’s current pie: a kale and sausage pizza.
