A Door Dash driver accused of pulling a gun on a group of angry women who reportedly followed him to his car while yelling at him after he delivered an order has pleaded to a reduced charge — a misdemeanor.
During a pretrial hearing April 13 in Oakland County Circuit Court, Andrew Boyer, 37, pleaded no contest to a disorderly person charge in connection with the Feb. 2, 2025 incident in Bloomfield Township. A charge of felonious assault was dismissed.

Soon after the incident, Boyer had been charged with a misdemeanor — brandishing a firearm in public. The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office subsequently amended the charge to felonious assault, citing “evidence available.”
Felonious assault carries a penalty of up to four years in prison and/or a fine of up to $2,000. The newly-amended charge carries a penalty of up to 90 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $500.
According to Bloomfield Township police, a verbal disagreement between Boyer and the women outside a home in the 500 block of Woodland Pass reportedly escalated after he dropped off an order, prompting him to pull his gun out of his waistband, chamber a round and shouting at the women to get away from him.
Boyer spent three hours in the Oakland County Jail on the original misdemeanor charge last year before posting a $3,000 bond to be released from custody.
He had been scheduled for trial April 21 before Judge David Cohen on the felony charge.
A no contest plea is not an admission of guilt but is treated as such for sentencing purposes. It also can offer some liability protection in civil cases.
