La Jolla Playhouse’s WOW Festival arrives April 23-26 on the UC San Diego campus. But there’s more to come. An audience-interactive show named “ha ha ha ha ha ha ha” will be presented at the theater this summer in a special WOW engagement.
Presented by the Playhouse as a WOW Experience, “ha ha ha ha ha ha ha” is a touring show produced by the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington, D.C. It will run July 28 through Aug. 9 in the Playhouse’s Mandell Weiss Forum theater on the UC San Diego campus.

The solo play stars Estonia-born and French-trained actor/clown Julia Masli on a quest to save the world by solving people’s individual problems.
Wearing a flashlight on her head and a mannequin’s leg over her arm, she selects people in the audience to ask what problem they have that she can fix. The questions and solutions change with every performance, ranging from Masli making difficult phone calls on an audience member’s behalf, recovering a long-missing recipe, finding the name of an old song or ending global fascism.
Masli created the show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022 and has since played at theaters around the world, including in Melbourne, Australia, London, New York and Pasadena. The touring Woolly Mammoth production, co-directed by Masli and Kim Noble, debuted in 2024.
