FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — One person and a dog were displaced after a fire at a duplex apartment complex Tuesday morning in southwest Fresno.

The fire was on Effie Street, near Belmont Avenue and Abby Street.

The Fresno Fire Department says firefighters were called out around 6:45 a.m. for the fire.

When they arrived, they found the second story fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters searched the inside and put out the flames.

No injuries were reported, but one persona and one dog were displaced due to water damage.

Nobody was found inside the top story, but firefighters still don’t know if it was vacant or not due to plywood being found.
