The San Dieguito Sea Dragons artistic swimming team had several strong performances in the pool at the 2026 West Zone Artistic Swimming Championships in Sacramento last month, with four elite routines qualifying for two separate National Championship events in Buffalo, New York in April.
“I am incredibly proud of this team and all they’ve accomplished this season,” said Head Coach Mary Liesegang in a news release. “They’ve built strong, confident routines that have earned them a place at the highest level of competition. Beyond their technical skill, what stands out most is who they are as a team. They support, challenge, and inspire each other, representing our program well both in and out of the water.”

Sophomore Parise Mason and senior Nitya Remias competed in the junior women duet technical event at the National and Junior Championships, held April 9-13. Nitya also performed a free solo routine to mark her final season before college. Later in the month, Juliet Zhang and Selina Liu will represent the Sea Dragons at the Youth Championships and 12U Invitational, April 23–26, competing in youth solo and 12U female solo.
Both competitions will be held at the SUNY Erie Burt Flickinger Center in Buffalo, New York.

According to the news release, the Sea Dragons are also always looking for the next generation of artistic swimmers. The club offers programs for all levels, from pre-novice beginners to competitive athletes.
“From beginners to top competitors, every athlete is supported, challenged, and inspired to grow,” said Sea Dragons board Co-President Ling Zheng said in the news release. “It’s that combination of skill, heart, and community that makes the Sea Dragons so special,”
