A man was injured in a shooting early Tuesday afternoon in a West Hollywood neighborhood, the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station confirmed to NBC Los Angeles.
The shooting was reported at 12:07 p.m. as deputies were sent to a residential area on Norton Avenue near Fairfax Avenue.
The responding deputies found a male victim with gunshot wounds. Several shell casings were also found near the victim, the sheriff’s station said.
The victim in his 40s was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
The suspect was yet to be located. The firearm was not found as of Tuesday afternoon.
The motive for the shooting was not immediately clear. A detailed description of the shooter was not immediately available.
Investigators were at the scene as of 2:30 p.m., according to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station.
