Jase Bowen finished Cactus League play tied for the team lead in home runs.
He still hasn’t stopped slugging.
The 25-year-old center fielder led off Triple-A El Paso’s 6-4 loss at Round Rock on Tuesday with his fourth home run, tops so far in the Padres minor league system.
The blast was Bowen’s only hit in the game. He is hitting .259/.306/.603 with nine RBIs in 14 games.
Bowen hit .296/.333/.630 with four homers in 25 games this spring in pushing Bryce Johnson for the outfield bench spot on the roster.
Left fielder Clay Dungan (.579 OPS) went 3-for-4 with his first homer and two RBIs.
Third baseman Sung-Mun Song (.652 OPS) went 0-for-3 with a walk in continuing his rehab assignment.
Left-hander Yuki Matsui (2.25 ERA) also appeared on a rehab assignment and struck out a batter, walked one and allowed one hit in an inning of work.
El Paso is 6-10.
