A former San Jose State football player and Berkeley resident has gone missing, and his family hasn’t seen him in 10 days.

A statement and flyer from The Aware Foundation said that 28-year-old Hadari Darden, 28, hasn’t been seen since about 1:15 a.m. on April 5 at the Skyline Shopping Center in Daly City. The AWARE Foundation is a national non-profit organization that assists families with missing loved ones.

Darden played linebacker with the Spartans from 2018 to 2021 after previously attending Contra Costa College and Moreau Catholic High in Hayward.

According to the statement, a security guard saw Darden walking in the area of the mall. He was wearing green joggers and a black hoodie and was carrying an army-colored backpack.

His family last saw him on April 4 in Berkeley. Family in social media posts said he had exhibited some strange behavior in the weeks leading up to his disappearance.

Daly City police are investigating his disappearance.

The AWARE Foundation said Darden’s mother has concerns for his well-being because he was spotted at a location far from public transportation and does not have his own vehicle.

Authorities encouraged anyone who may see him to contact Daly City police at 650-991-8119 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
