“MAJESTIC TANGO: ELEVATING ARGENTINA’S GREATEST ART FORM TO NEW HEIGHTS”
A remarkable cast of eight dancers and six musicians will transform the Barclay stage into a lively tango club complete with incredible choreographed dances set to passionate music. Combining dialogue, music, and choreography, this production transcends the traditional dance performance. The dancers will perform in duos, and the musicians will include two bandoneon players along with violin, double bass, and piano. “EAT ME”
Food is at the center of this unique play developed by Talene Monahon, one of The New York Times’ rising theater stars of 2023. The world premiere of “Eat Me” made its mark on the South Coast Repertory stage last year, and it returns with its provocative storytelling. The story serves as commentary on the social media-driven world of foodies and food obsessed content creators. “THE MESSENGER”
Georgia Gabor is a Hungarian Holocaust survivor living in Pasadena, Calif., struggling daily with survival, prejudice, and a fight against hatred. Four women living in her neighborhood across completely different generations from 1969, 1993, and 2020 will be impacted by her story. The play features a provocative and emotional narrative that encourages viewers to think about injustice throughout history into the present as it follows each of these four women. Chance Theater, 5522 E. “THE MALTESE FALCON”
Revisit the 1941 film noir in this staged theatrical comedy. Five actors will tackle the 20-plus roles as they tell the story of Sam Spade, a stern detective devoted to solving a complicated case filled with crime, danger, and suspicious circumstances. He sets out to find a famous jewel-encrusted falcon statue and loses his partner to murder in the process, but he will stop at nothing to solve his case. PUCCINI’S “TURANDOT”
Experience a journey of love and sacrifice in one of opera’s most emotional and historic works. Puccini’s “Turandot” takes place in a fantastical version of China and tells the story of the icy Princess Turandot as she attempts to find an acceptable suitor. She challenges each of the candidates with three riddles to solve, and failure ends in certain death. Carl St.Clair will conduct the Pacific Chorale, the Southern California Children’s Chorus, the Pacific Symphony, and a cast of 10 performers as they bring the tale to life. WITTE LECTURES: ANNIE GRIFFITHS
The world-renowned National Geographic photographer made her mark as one of the magazine’s first female photographers and continues to inspire. Along with working for dozens of magazines and traveling to more than 100 countries for work, Griffiths founded Ripple Effect Images, a collective of filmmakers and photographers who empower women and children with their work. ORANGE COUNTY WINE FEST
Enjoy unlimited wine tastings, food, and live music under the sun on the Orange County fairgrounds. Dozens of local and regional wineries and winemakers will be offering up their wines to taste, and guests can also buy bottles to take home. Try a wide variety of wines from the traditional red, white, and rosé as well as many unique finds. DINOSAUR WORLD LIVE
What would it be like to have a towering Tyrannosaurus rex walking among us? With elaborate puppetry, this show makes ancient fossils come alive and look shockingly real. Experience the triceratops, giraffatitan, microraptor, and the segnosaurus as they interact with actors and the audience. The intricate puppets are detailed, operate with lifelike movement, and even roar. Immediately following the show, there will be a meet and greet to interact with some of the dinosaurs.
