The Patterson FFA Chapter recently attended the 98th California FFA State Conference in Sacramento with 23 members, and it was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. From leadership workshops to the expo floor, members stayed busy learning, meeting new people, and getting inspired about the future of agriculture.
Priscilla Pena and Marissa Acevedo represented Patterson FFA as voting delegates. In addition to speaking up for their chapter, they also took part in voting for the new California FFA State Officers, helping choose the next group of leaders who will guide FFA across the state.
A big highlight of the conference was FFA’s Got Talent, where Juliana Valencia and Lauren Anson performed a traditional folklórico dance from the state of Sinaloa. Their performance was one of only eight acts selected, and they proudly represented their chapter on stage. They put months of practice and pride into their performance and are very grateful for the opportunities to perform.
Lauren Anson was also honored as a finalist for the Paul Freitas Memorial Scholarship, recognizing her hard work, leadership, and dedication to FFA.
Outside of the sessions and events, members enjoyed exploring the expo, learning about colleges and agricultural careers, and connecting with other FFA chapters all over the state. Overall, the conference was an exciting and meaningful experience for Patterson FFA, leaving members inspired, closer as a chapter, and ready for what’s next.
