From Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, five of the show creator and star’s favorite spots will offer merch and speciality food to celebrate the release of her HBO Max series
Rachel Sennott, the star and co-writer of Bottoms, is coming back to your screens — this time in a new comedy series, I Love LA, on HBO Max. Sennott is the creator, writer and star of the show, which takes place in L.A. I Love LA follows a tight-knit friend group navigating the complexities of ambition and relationships, and it stars Jordan Firstman, True Whitaker, Josh Hutcherson and Odessa A’zion alongside Sennott. The series is set to debut on Nov. 2 at 10:30 p.m. ET on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max, with weekly episodes releasing until the finale on Dec. 21.
To celebrate, the show is teaming up with a lineup of Sennott’s favorite local food stops for an immersive citywide food takeover — including a few featured in the show. From Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, each eatery will feature a menu item inspired by Sennott’s own go-to comfort foods that also channel the spirit of the series. The spots will be transformed, complete with custom menus, napkins and signage, bringing the show to life in L.A.’s culinary scene. There is also an added bonus: If fans order the specialty item and share the secret phrase (“Sink or Swim”) at the counter, they will unlock limited-edition I Love LA swag while supplies last. This includes two cut-brim hats with different designs, which will vary between locations.
