The National Urban League’s annual conference will return to Los Angeles in 2027 for the first time in 25 years, with a formal announcement scheduled to be made next week.

National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial, Los Angeles Urban League President and CEO Cynthia Mitchell-Heard and Los Angeles City Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson are expected to outline details of the conference on Wednesday.

“More than a conference, the National Urban League’s annual gathering is one of the nation’s largest and most influential civil rights and urban policy convenings — driving national conversations on economic empowerment, workforce development, social justice, and equity,” organizers said in a statement released Thursday. “Its return to Los Angeles underscores the city’s central role in shaping the future of opportunity and inclusion.”

The conference, scheduled for July 28-31, is expected to draw thousands of attendees, including policymakers, business leaders and advocates from across the country, organizers said.

The Los Angeles Urban League will host the event, which is projected to generate economic activity and provide opportunities for local businesses, job seekers and entrepreneurs.
