BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County’s annual push to support local nonprofits is underway, with the 10th “Give Big Kern” campaign now accepting donations ahead of this year’s Day of Giving on May 5.

Last year, the event raised more than $1.7 million for more than 100 local nonprofits.

Organizers say the goal is to help community groups grow while giving the public an easy way to give back.
