Pedestrian dies after hit by vehicle on Florin Road in Sacramento County, CHP says

A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Florin Road in Sacramento County on Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.The crash was reported at 6:08 a.m. on Florin Road east of French Road, CHP said. According to a preliminary investigation, a driver saw a pedestrian lying down in the roadway and braked but was unable to avoid hitting her. The woman died at the scene. The driver stopped a short distance away and cooperated with investigators, CHP said. The roadway has since reopened.
