Coming across a mystical paper map in your glove compartment, then unfolding it in a gingerly fashion, then following various streets, byways, and major roads to reach your ultimate destination of Pizza City?
It sounds like a delicious dream, with a mouthwatering route that might take you past Caramelized Onion Canyon, over the Ricotta River, and straight into the Mushroom Metropolis.
But you don’t need to go looking for such a mystical map, as a veritable township of tastiness is ready to melt hearts, and a plethora of incredible cheeses, at L.A. Live over the final weekend of April.
It’s the return of the Pizza City Fest, a two-day festivity that summons pizza-making experts from all of the crust-worthy corners of Southern California for panels, demonstrations, and lots and lots and LOTS of pizza to enjoy.
The pie-obsessed fest has popped up in three cities in recent years — Chicago and Nashville are on the roster — and a host of regional pizzerias, and celebrated pizzaioli, are always the savory stars.
On April 25 and 26, the festival will feature Thunderbolt Pizza from Long Beach, Venice’s Angel City Pizza, and Little Dynamite of Mar Vista, and so many other slice-tastic stand-outs.
Your ticket includes “unlimited” tastings of pizza but do keep in mind that different pizzerias will be in attendance on Saturday and Sunday, so you may want to choose the day you visit after perusing the list of restaurants that you’re keen to connect with (yep, a ticket is good for one day).
It isn’t just about the chowing down, though that is a major element; panel discussions are a knowledge-expanding draw, with “The Pizza Principle: A Home Baker’s Masterclass” gracing the Saturday schedule and “It’s Not the Water! NYC Pizza Exists in LA” popping up on Sunday.
And happening both days at 4 o’clock? Cheer-along competitions celebrating the art of pizza box-folding, a noble field that truly boasts some swift and talented competitors.
For all of the pizzerias set to sizzle at the 2026 event, and ticket information, slide by this site, as easily as unbaked dough slides into a woodfired oven, and get the gooey goings-on pronto.
