LOGAN, Utah – Utah State women’s tennis is set to take on 11th-seeded San Jose State in the first round of the Mountain West Tournament set to take place in Las Vegas at the Darling Tennis Center on Wednesday through Saturday, April 22-25.

The Aggies enter the tournament as the conference’s 6-seed, tying the program’s highest-ever seed at the MW Tournament. USU also entered the 2015 tournament as the 6-seed, reaching the quarterfinals by defeating UNLV in the opening round, 4-3.

Utah State defeated SJSU in the teams’ regular season meeting, scoring a 4-3 comeback victory with junior Magdalena Nunez Pureco scoring the clinching win at No. 6 singles.

USU finished the regular season at 11-10 overall with a 5-6 mark in conference play. The Aggies’ 11 victories at the most by the team since reaching 12 wins in 2019. The Aggies won four-straight during MW action, including the team’s win over the Spartans, marking the program’s first-ever four-match winning streak during conference play. Utah State also tied its program-record with six road victories.
