Gunther’s Ice Cream remains open after fire causes smoke damage

A fire at Gunther’s Ice Cream early Saturday morning caused smoke damage to the building, but the business is still open for the day. The Sacramento Fire Department said an exterior fire caused damage to the interior. It is unknown what started the fire. An employee at Gunther’s, located in the 2800 block of Franklin Blvd., told KCRA 3 that the smoke damage only affected one area, the manufacturing room. A KCRA 3 photographer went to Gunther’s to get a look at the damage on Saturday afternoon.
