Police are searching for a possibly armed suspect in Culver City on Saturday afternoon.

At around 3:15 p.m., the Culver City Police Department received a call about a man who claimed he was about to start shooting at the Westfield Culver City mall. When officers arrived, they found a person who matched the suspect description.

The suspect, described only as a man in his 30s, left on foot, police said.

Police asked the public to avoid the area of Slauson and Hannum avenues, near the 90 Freeway, due to police activity, which concluded just before 5:30 p.m. The suspect remains at large, officials said.

No injuries have been reported, according to the police department.

The investigation is ongoing.
