BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The United States is facing a crisis when it comes to the health and safety of women during childbirth.
Black women continue to face significantly higher rates of pregnancy related health issues.
According to the CDC, Black Woman also have a higher maternal mortality rate than White, Hispanic and Asian women.
Dr. Sherryann Taylor, Kaiser Permanente OBGYN, joined ARC Bakersfield to share what puts Black women at risk and what steps can be taken to save lives.
