LAFC2 earned a 2-1 win over San Jose Earthquakes II on Sunday afternoon at USC’s Rawlinson Stadium. San Jose opened the scoring in the second minute through Zachary Bohane, but the Black & Gold answered with second-half goals from Matt Evans and Marius Aiyenero to claim all three points at home. 

After conceding early, LAFC2 settled into the match and began to create chances. Evans forced a save in the 31st minute, and the Black & Gold kept pushing after the break. The equalizer came in the 54th minute, when Evans finished from the center of the box off a ball from Jacob Machuca, with Sebastian Nava also involved in the buildup. 

The winner arrived late. In the 88th minute, Aiyenero scored from the center of the box off an assist from Gavin Zambrano, with Nava involved again. 

The Black & Gold controlled much of the game, finishing with 17 shots. LAFC2 held San Jose to one goal despite facing six shots on target, with Ethan Scally making five saves to help preserve the result. 

LAFC2 returns to action on Sunday, April 26, when the club travels to face Tacoma Defiance at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, WA.. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. PT.
