OAKLAND — A third man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a drug deal where two victims were ambushed by three gunmen, one of whom killed a man with a rifle, court records show.
Antwan Roy Santos, 20, was charged with one count of murder and two counts of robbery in the Dec. 29, 2025 killing of Stacy Tidwell IV. With his April 17 arrest, Santos joins co-defendants Micari Fluker, 23, the alleged driver, and Marjee “Lil Jae” Martin, 18, the alleged mastermind of the robbery plot, at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
Authorities say Tidwell and another man were set up to be robbed during a pill deal near Fremont High in Oakland and that three robbers ran up on the victims with guns. It is unclear from court filings who police believe personally killed Tidwell or if they’ve narrowed it down. The three men are charged under the felony rule, alleging that they’re guilty of murder for putting the armed robbery plot into motion.
After being shot during the fracas, Tidwell was driven to a hospital by the surviving victim, and succumbed to his injuries, authorities said.
Santos has not yet entered a plea. He is scheduled to do so on April 23, court records show. Martin was booked into jail in January and Fluker was arrested in February in St. Louis, then extradited to the Bay Area, court records show.
Santos was arrested on a murder warrant in January of this year, but in connection with a different case: Authorities identified him as a suspect in the May 2024 killing of 18-year-old Jason Nicholas, who was shot inside the Nights Inn at 874 West MacArthur Boulevard in Oakland. In a police interview, Santos denied involvement in the case, ever being at the inn, or knowing Nicholas, authorities said. A teen girl believed to be present told police that Nicholas drew a gun first during a conflict inside a room. Santos was never charged, court records show.
The fourth suspect in Tidwell’s killing has not been publicly identified. Police say the incident remains under investigation.
Tidwell barely survived being shot in Oakland just 16 months before his death, authorities said. His father, Stacy Tidwell III, was shot and killed in Oakland in 2003, when Tidwell IV was just 3 years old, according to media reports.
