Gayle Andrade
OBITUARY
Gayle Janet Andrade passed away on Friday, September 5th, 2025, in Sacramento, California. She was 84 years old. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Troth, her father, Henry Grube, and her mother, Janet Grube, as well as her brother, Norman Grube. She is survived by her sons, Eric (Karen) Troth and David Troth, of Sacramento, California, and by her granddaughter Natalie Troth, of Powell, Tennessee, as well as her sister, Joan Bibens, of Modesto, California, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Gayle was born in Modesto on November 11th, 1940. She graduated from Thomas Downey High School and Modesto Junior College and studied music, singing in The Nightingales and participating in school musicals like Oklahoma, singing standards like Over The Rainbow, while collecting numerous awards, culminating in her earning an associate degree in music. She would later perform for Mothers of Note, Woodland Chamber Singers, and The Sacramento Choral Society, where she had the honor of performing Mozarts Requiem, as well as other great works.
In the 1960s and 70s, Gayle helped direct a local food cooperative in Woodland, California. In the 1980s, she began working as a warehouse associate at the Woodland Rite Aid Regional Distribution Center, where she was known for her accuracy and was eventually trusted by her employer to fill controlled substance orders. She retired from Rite Aid in the 2000s and settled in Sacramento, California.
Gayle loved singing and for many years was a church choir director, most notably for St. John’s Church of Christ in Woodland and Trinity Presbyterian Church in West Sacramento. She also loved reading and especially needlepointing, crafting many beautiful framed works of art during her retirement.
Gayle will be missed by all who knew her, her friendly personality brightening up our days, like her beautiful voice.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1500 Park Boulevard, West Sacramento. The family requests that any donations in her memory be sent to Paws for Purple Hearts at pawsforpurplehearts.org
